How do I add a business entry?
Posting a business listing on Catholicity is completely free. The site is totally free, no strings attached!

Posting is easy. Simply follow the instructions below:

  • Click "Add Business" in the top navigation bar on all Catholicity pages.
  • Search for the proper category for your listing or choose a category from the main categories mentioned below the search box. Click "Proceed".
  • Enter all other required details and click "Preview" for a final look at your listing.
  • If your listing looks ok click the "Post your entry" button or click "Edit" to modify it.
  • Finally, check your email for a confirmation message from Catholicity.
How can I include images in my business listing?
During the process of creating a new business listing, there will be an upload box for uploading your business logo only. However, once you have completed and confirmed your listing, you can select "My Listings" from the "My Catholicity" drop-down box. This will display all your current listings. On the appropriate listing, click "Manage Your Listing". Scroll down the ensuing page and you will find three additional upload boxes for uploading up to three additional images. Select images from your computer's hard disk and click "OK" or "Open". The picture is then uploaded and attached to your business listing. The uploaded pictures need to be in either jpeg, gif or png format and they can have a maximum size of 2MB each. Each business entry can have up to four pictures, including logo. Adding pictures to your business listing will significantly increase credibility and hence its success.

Furthermore, you can also use the HTML "img" tag to embed images. In this case, your images need to be already accessible on the web.

I am trying to upload an image to my listing, but it says that the image is prohibited. Why is that?
Can I use HTML tags or URLs in my business listing?
Catholicity does allow HTML and linkable URLs in business listings on the site.
How can I increase the chance of getting a good response to my business listing?
To increase the chance of getting a good response, follow these simple tips:

  • Add one or more photos to your listing. At least use your company logo.
  • Add as much details about your business in your listing.
  • Enter tags to help you specify your listing so that it can be found better.
  • Tell your friends about Catholicity. The more people who use Catholicity, the more responses you'll get!

How can I list my business in multiple cities?
Catholicity's purpose is finding local businesses. Please post your business directory listing only in the city (and the country) where your business is located. You can list your company in all cities that you have offices in.
How do you protect my email address against spam?
Catholicity does not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

Your email address will not be displayed in your business listing. Responses to your ad are emailed to you through the contact form. You can reply to these responses directly from your email account.

If you want us to display your real email address, we apply advanced encryption technology to prevent spambots from harvesting your email address from Locanto. Be advised not to put your email address into the body of your business listing!
What is the Catholicity Seal of Approval?
Before a listing is published on Catholicity it will be reviewed by our team. Once your listing is approved you will receive an email with the code for your Catholicity Seal of Approval. You can embed it into your website or blog to show that your listing has met the Catholicity quality standards. This can increase the trust factor among your customers and business partners. Note: This functionality is still under development and we will advise when complete.
How long does it take to review my listing?
It may take up to 24 hours for your listing will be reviewed by our team. You will receive an email as soon as your listing has been approved.
Why do I have to change the title of my listing?
In order to be admitted to the Catholicity business directory the title of the listing must contain the name of your company. If you like you can add a slogan to your title.
How do I edit/add/delete pictures to my listing after it has been posted?
If you already have a Catholicity account

  • Log into your account at My Catholicity
  • Click "My Listings"
  • Find the relevant listing and cClick the notepad icon "Manage your listing". You are now on the interface to edit your listing.
  • To change your image, check "Change the image" and upload a new one
  • To delete the image, check the box "Delete the image"
  • To add images click on the "Choose File" button and choose your image
  • Preview your listing before confirming your modifications by clicking on the "Preview" button, at the bottom of the page
  • To finalise your changes, click on "Update your entry"

How can I find out how often my listing has been viewed?
There are two ways to find out how often your listing has been viewed on Catholicity.

1. Log in at "My Catholicity" and click on "My Listings" on the left navigation bar. You will find an overview of all your listings here. The number on the rightmost side is the number of views, right beside the duration counter for your listing.

2. One month after you posted your listing, we will send you an email in which we will inform you about the success of your listing and the number of views that your listing received. Note: This functionality is still in development and we will advise when complete.
How can I upload more listings through .csv, .xls or .ods?
You can upload more listings on Catholicity using .csv, .xls or .ods files. Just follow the instructions on our partner info page to check if they are compatible with Catholicity. Our review team checks your listings after they have been sent to us and will be assisting you throughout the process. Note: This functionality is still in development and we will advise when complete.
How can I upload more listings automatically using XML feeds?
Catholicity offers you the possibility to upload your business listings via XML feed. Simply visit our our info page and send us your XML feed. Our team will then review your feed and will assist you in the process. Note: This functionality is still in development and we will advise when complete.
Why have I not received a confirmation email?
If you have not received your confirmation email, first check any "Bulk" or "Junk" email folders in your mailbox to see if the confirmation email from Catholicity was sent there.

If you still can't find the email, click here to get the confirmation email resent to you.
Why does the map on my business listing not show the correct address?
This may occur if the postal code you entered was incorrect. To fix this problem, edit your Ad and be sure to list your postal code. To learn how to edit your listing, follow the link below.

How can I edit, repost or delete my business listing from the site?
Why was my listing not approved?
There are several reasons why a business listing may not have been approved:

  • The title did not contain the full company name.
  • The listing violated our Terms of Use.
  • The listing was posted in multiple cities. (Catholicity is about local businesses, so ensure you only post in your city.)
  • The same listing was submitted several times.
How long do business entries last on the site?
The expiration time depends on the category where it is posted. The exact days a new listing remains active is shown on the posting form. Later on you can use the link for managing your entry to check the days your listing remains active.

How can I edit, repost or delete my business listing from the site?

When you activate your free account, information about your listing, including the expiration date will be shown under "My listings" after logging in to "My Catholicity".
How can I edit, repost or delete my business entry from the site?
Find your "Posting Confirmation" email from Catholicity that you got when you posted your business listing on the site. This email will have a link to edit and/or delete your Ad. If you have lost or deleted this email, click here and we will resend it to you.

When your listing expires an expiration email will be sent to you. The email will include links to repost your business listing. After the expiration grace period, entries will automatically be archived. Follow the link below to learn more about archiving:

How do you archive business entries?

In addition, if you have registered an account, you can view, edit, or delete all of your ads through your account. After logging in you can go directly to managing your ads.

How can I register for an account?
How do you archive business listings?
If a business listing expires without being reposted, it is automatically archived. This means that the Ads is still accessible on the site. However, it will not be included in any search results.

If your business listing has been archived, you can still use our reposting feature to get your business back into our search index.
How can I report any scam emails I receive?
If you get any suspicious emails from Catholicity users, please forward them to us using the contact button at the bottom of the page.

You may also choose to "Ignore sender" if you do not wish to receive any more messages from a particular user. To reverse this, go back to the message where you have clicked "Ignore user" which is now the "Undo" button. Click "Undo" to get messages from the sender again.

The new messaging center allows you to exchange messages directly through the Catholicity platform, which provides you and your email account with the highest amount of protection and safety from possible fraud.

Remember that the best protection from scams is to transact with people in person, in your own city. And, as always, if something sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.
I am trying to upload an image to my listing, but it says that the image is prohibited. Why is that?
Generally, there are certain guidelines for images on Catholicity. You can find these guidelines in our Terms of Use. If the image you are trying to upload complies with the terms of use and you still can't upload it, it could be that the image is either too big or doesn't have the right format.
The uploaded pictures need to be in either jpeg, gif or png format and they can have a maximum size of 2MB each.

Why was my listing deleted?
There are several reasons why a listing may not have been approved, including:

  • The listing violated our Terms of Use.
  • The listing title did not contain the full company name
  • Users flagged the listing as being spam or offensive.
  • The listing was posted in multiple cities. (Catholicity is a local platform, so please ensure that you only post in your city and your country.)
  • You have posted the same listing multiple times in the same or different categories.
  • You posted a classifieds ad promoting a product or service and not a business listing that introduces a business.

How can I contact the poster of a business entry?
Replying to a business entry is completely free. To contact the poster of a business listing, use the contact information displayed on the listing or click the yellow "Contact business" button on the listing page. Provide your email address and confirm it through the link which we will send you via email. The messaging center is secure and protects your personal information. Through the messaging center you can send an inquiry to the business you wish to contact anonymously.

Catholicity does not have any additional contact information of the advertiser other than what is already displayed in the listing.
Why are listings approved before they go live?
At Catholicity, we review each listing manually. Quality is a very important factor for our business directory and a review of the listings ensures that our and your high quality standards are met.

However, we cannot guarantee that the content of a business listing is valid. If you see a business listing that looks to be spam, offensive, miscategorised or illegal, please flag it by clicking on the "Flag this listing" link on the upper right side of the listing page.
What should I do if I see a business entry that I think is spam, offensive, miscategorized or illegal?
If you see a business entry which you think is illegal, prohibited or otherwise a bad fit for the Catholicity site, please flag it by clicking on "Flag this listing" on the upper right side of the listing's page.
What is flagging and how does it help the site?
Since the Catholicity team can not review the many entries posted each day, the flagging system enables you, the Catholicity user to identify entries that do not belong on the site. Once a listing has enough flags, automatic action is being taken to resolve the issue. A listing can be flagged as spam, miscategorized, and prohibited. Use the "Flag this listing" link found on the upper right hand side of the listing's page to flag it.
What recourse do I have if my transaction has gone bad or if I have been defrauded?
If you feel that your transaction with another Catholicity user has gone bad or you have been cheated by a fraudulent business entry on the site, please let us know about it (using our contact form).

If appropriate, you should contact the police to pursue criminal charges.

Remember to trade locally and transact in-person to reduce the risk that your transaction will "go bad".
When can I renew my business entry?
Generally you can renew your listing(s) up to 7 days before they expire. Once you renew your listing, it will appear at the top of the search results and will be found better.
How do I find out when my listing on Catholicity expires?
There are two ways to find out when your listing on Catholicity expires.

1. Log in at "My Catholicity" and click on "My Listings" on the left navigation bar. You will find an overview of all your listings here. The number on the rightmost side is the number of views, right beside the duration counter for your listing.

2. We will send you an email shortly before your listing is about to expire. This email will contain a link with which you can renew your listing for free.
I saw a business listing on Catholicity that is outdated. How can I send the corrections?
On the upper right side of the listing's page, you may click on "Suggest correction" to send the updated information.
My business is listed on Catholicity, but the information is incorrect. How can I change them?
If you are the owner of the company, click the "claim listing" link beside "Your company?" to claim the listing and apply changes.
If you are not the company owner, use the "Suggest correction" link on the upper right side of the listing's page.
I tried to claim a listing but it has already been claimed. What should I do?
Please contact us directly and please send us more information that proves you have the permission to update company information. It could be a scanned copy of your business card, a letter head of your company that states your name or an abstract from the business registration.
How can I add the Catholicity Seal of Approval to my website?
The confirmation email you received when your listing was approved contains a link to the page where your Catholicity Seals of Approval are located. Select the seal of your choice and copy the entire code to your homepage.
How can my business be featured as the "Catholicity Company of the Week"?
All businesses listed on Catholicity may participate. Each week, on the Catholicity blog a business from our directory will be featured as "Catholicity Company of the Week." However, Catholicity cannot guarantee that all applicants will be featured due to a high volume of submissions.

How can I register for an account?
Registration is very simple: Click on "Add Business" at the top of the Catholicity site. Enter your business details. At the end of the process, you should receive an email that contains a link with which you can activate your listings as well as your new Catholicity user account.
Am I automatically registered when I publish a listing on Catholicity?
Yes. Publishing a listing will automatically create a user account. The login details for that account will be those that you enter while publishing a listing. You can create further listings under this user account by logging in at the start of the listing creation process. If you like to register for an account, simply click on "My Catholicity" at the top right corner of the site and choose "Register a New Account".
What are the advantages of an account registration?
Registering for an account offers a one-stop solution to view, manage and edit all your listings and auto-fill data. This makes it easier to edit and, if necessary, delete your listing(s). If you are logged in while publishing a listing, your auto-fill data will be automatically added to your listing so that you won't have to enter the same data over and over again. This makes publishing a listing faster and easier for you. Furthermore you can connect different email addresses into one account and easily view and manage all data linked to the respective email addresses.
How can I log in to my account?
In order to log in to your account, you have to enter your email address or username and password at My Catholicity, located on the upper right corner of the home page. Please remember the email address that you chose when registering an account because you will need it in case you forgot your username or password.

You may now view of all of your listings and you can edit and/or delete them as you wish.
How do you prevent unauthorized access of my data through third parties?
Our system is safe because logging in is only enabled with a password that only you should know. This disables the unauthorized access of your data or deletion/modification of your listings through third parties.
What can I do if I forgot my password?
To get a new password, click on "Log In" at My Catholicity. On the left menu bar, click on "Lost Password" and enter your email address or username. We will then send you an email with a link that allows you to enter a new password. In future, you can use your new password to log in.
Can I change my username or email address?
An email address that is attached to a listing or an account cannot be changed.

You have two options:

1) Delete the listing with your old email address and create a new listing using your new email address.

2) Add the new email address to your account. You can do so by logging in to your account at "My Catholicity":
  • Click on "Account Settings"
  • Select "Add an email address"
  • Once you confirm your new email address, we will add it to your account and you can use it in the future

Usernames however are unique to each account and cannot be changed. If you wish to have a different username, you will have to delete your old account and create a new account with the new username.
How can I delete my account on Catholicity?
Here are the steps to delete your account on Catholicity:

  • Click on "My Catholicity" at the top right corner of the page.
  • Click on "Log In" and enter your email address or username and your password.
  • You will now see the question "What do you want to do now?"
    Click on "Manage account settings".
  • You will be given several options. Choose "Delete Account" next to the red "X" icon.
  • Enter your password and confirm this by clicking "Delete my account".
Your account will now be deleted.
How can I make my listing stand out from the rest?
When you want to make your listing stand out, Catholicity allows you to do so with Premium Features. There are three different options to choose from to make your listing more visible to users.
To begin, simply select one or more of the three options avaialble: Gallery Listing, Top Listing and Premium Listing.
What are Premium Features?
Premium Features make your listing stand out. Therefore, your listing will be seen more often and be successful faster. You can choose one or more of the three Catholicity Premium Features: Gallery Listing, Top Listing and Premium Listing.
What is a Gallery Listing?
The Gallery Listing makes it possible for you to have your listing directly in the Category-Gallery, on the right side of every page in your selected category. The Gallery Listings are showcased in rotation if the amount of booked Gallery Listings exceeds the space in the Category-Gallery.
What is a Top Listing?
If you select the Top Listing feature, your listing will always appear at the top of the results page for your chosen category so it is one of the first listings seen by users. In addition, your listing will be labeled with the word "Top". This also allows your listing to stand out from the others on Catholicity. It should also be noted that if several users add the Top Listings feature for the same category, the Top Listings will be displayed on a rotating basis at the very top of all other listings.
What is a Premium Listing?
The Premium Listing feature removes all other forms of advertising from your listing. This allows users to view your listing without distraction from external promotional ads such as banners. In addition, your Premium Listing will be specially marked with a Premium label on the results page for your chosen category.
How do I use Premium Features?
If you have decided to use one of the Premium Features, then you must first enter your business details as usual on Catholicity. Afterwards, you can choose one or more of the Premium Features and their duration. You will then be forwarded to PayPal or Skrill in order to make your payment for the selected Premium Features.
You can also add Premium Features if your listing is already online. To do this, go to "My Catholicity", create an account or login and click on Premium Features. Here you have the option to add Premium Features to your listing.
Can I add Premium Features to my existing listing?
Yes, please log in to "My Catholicity" and click on "Premium Features". Here you can choose your preferred Premium Features and their duration. You can buy a Premium Feature for a minimum duration of one week.
How do I purchase a Premium Feature?
There are three different methods of paying for Premium Features, which are: direct debit, credit card or PayPal or Skrill.
Paying by bank transfer is possible through PayPal or Skrill. At the moment, these are the only available payment methods we can offer.

I do not have a PayPal or Skrill account. Can I still purchase Premium Features?
For the payment of Premium Features, you are not required to have a PayPal or Skrill account. In this case, you can only pay by credit card. If you want to use direct debit, you will need an account with PayPal or Skrill.
What is the cost of Premium Features?
The cost is dependent on which of the available Premium Features you choose. You can review prices after you have posted your free listing. Then you can also choose from different Premium Features and the duration of each.
Will I receive an invoice after payment?
Your invoices can be viewed and printed at any time through "My Catholicity". To do so, access "My Catholicity" and click on "Premium Features". Then select "My Invoices".

The invoice(s) (proof of payment) will be sent to you at the beginning of the next month after you have booked a Premium Feature(s).
What happens if my listing with Premium Features is deleted?
If your listing violates our terms of use or if your listing has been reported by other users as a scam or spam, and Catholicity deletes your listing for any of those reasons, we cannot refund any fees already paid for the Premium Features. For further details, please read over our Terms of Use.
How can I remove my published listing with Premium Features?
If you have created a listing with Premium Features and it is already paid for, it is possible for you to delete the listing. Click on "My Catholicity" and log in using your username and password. Then choose "Manage listings" and then click on the red cross on the right side of the displayed listing(s). This will instantly delete the listing(s). The fees however, are non-refundable for Premium Features.
Will I get my money back if my listing with Premium Features is deleted?
If your listing violates our terms of use or if your listing has been reported by other users as a scam or spam, and Catholicity deletes your listing for any of those reasons, we cannot refund any fees already paid for Premium Features. Please read our Terms of Use.
I set my Premium Features on autorenew. Now I want to cancel it. Can I request a cancellation effective immediately?
You may cancel your autorenew option by logging in to your %1$s account and doing the adjustments there.

Is Catholicity free?
Catholicity is completely free. No hidden costs arise with the creation, modification, usage or deletion of a listing.
What is the Catholicity Email Agent and how can I use it?
At Catholicity you have the option to subscribe to categories and receive instant, daily, or weekly alerts with the latest listings in your chosen category. Of course the subscription is free. To subscribe to a category, simply go to the Catholicity home page for your city, select the category of your choice, and enter your email address at the bottom of the page. Select whether you want instant, daily, or weekly emails. Alternatively you can click on "New listings via email" at the top of the category page of your city.

Registering a free account at Catholicity enables you to manage the frequency/delete your email subscriptions through "My Catholicity". After logging into your account, go to "My Account", then click "Email Agents" to apply changes.

To unsubscribe from this option, use the unsubscribe link provided at the bottom of the email subscription(s) sent to you. Note: This functionality is still in development and we will advise when complete.
What are the advantages of the Catholicity Email Agent?
If you subscribe to a category via email, you will always receive the latest listings from your chosen category right in your email inbox. The Email Agent helps you to find business relevant for you more easily.
What is a My Favorites list and how can I use it?
My Favorites is another free service for our Catholicity users. It allows you to save listings that you find interesting on your browser and review them at a later time or contact the poster of the listing. To ad companies to your list of favorites, simply click on the grey star icon next to the listing's title or on the right side of the listing on the category results page. A second click on the star will remove the listing from your favorites list. At the top right corner of the page you will see the same star icon with a number next to it that indicates the number of listings that you have added to your list of favorites. Clicking on that star will let you see your full list of favorite listings.
How did the navigation bar change? How can I individualise the navigation bar?
Catholicity now offers you the opportunity to adjust your favorite categories in the top navigation bar.
Simply click on any category tab and drag it with your mouse to the position of your choice.
Besides the category tabs that you see in the navigation bar by default, there is also the tab "more". Clicking on "more" will display all remaining categories. You can move these to your top navigation bar as well.
Your individualized top navigation bar will be saved for future visits to Catholicity.
What is Street View and how do I use it at Catholicity?
Street View is a Google Maps function that allows you to view different locations in a 360° street level. The Catholicity business directory allows you to view a company's location via the Street View function, provided it is available in the respective city.

In order to use Street View for a business listing at Catholicity, please click on the map provided in the listing.
To view street-level imagery in Google Maps, click and drag the "Pegman" figure to the place you want to see. Roads with Street View imagery will appear with a blue border.
You can also enter Street View by zooming in all the way, for areas where Street View imagery is available.
To rotate your view in Street View, either use the wheel in the control panel in the top left corner, use the left and right arrows on your keyboard, or click and drag with your mouse.
To walk down a street, click on one of the white arrows overlaid on the street or use the up and down arrows on your keyboard.
You can exit Street View by clicking the (x) at the top right corner of the map.
How do I select my location?
Up to now you have only had the option to list your business in a selected number of cities. The new location finder allows you to post your listing in any region, area, or location, regardless of its size. Selecting your location is very easy.

There is a map of your country on the Catholicity homepage.
You now have three options to select the location of your choice.

  • Option 1: Search for your location by entering the name into the search box.
  • Option 2: Click on the locator icon "Use current location" right next to the search box. Allow Catholicity to track your physical location, then choose your location from the list (your location will be determined through your IP address).
  • Option 3: Click on the map. This will open the map in a window where you can click on your desired region or state. You can now either visit the classified ads for the entire region/state by closing the window, or further narrow down your search by clicking on the desired city or location on the map. You now also have the option to select a popular location from the list right next to the map.

Each click on the map allows you to repeat one of the options mentioned above.

To make it easier for your next visit, Catholicity will remember your selected location. If you wish to change your selection, you can do so by clicking the "change location" button at the top right side of the site.
